Addressing Payment Issues for a French Client’s Olympic Souvenir Vending Machines

In preparation for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, a French client approached us with a unique request. They needed custom-designed vending machines for selling Olympic souvenirs, and a crucial requirement was to support a wide range of international payment methods, including multiple currencies, both in coins and banknotes, as well as credit and debit card transactions. Given the global nature of the event, the machines needed to be reliable and user-friendly for visitors from all over the world.

Understanding the significance of this high-profile event and the importance of providing seamless payment options, our team quickly initiated a comprehensive assessment of the client’s needs. We conducted several brainstorming sessions to explore the best solutions for integrating a multi-currency, multi-method payment system into the souvenir vending machines.

To ensure the machines could handle the influx of international visitors, we selected advanced payment modules capable of processing various currencies and payment methods. This included configuring the machines to accept Euros, US Dollars, British Pounds, Japanese Yen, and other major international currencies. Additionally, we integrated card readers compatible with major credit and debit card networks, as well as contactless payment options such as Apple Pay and Google Wallet.

To guarantee the system’s reliability, we performed extensive testing with different currencies and payment methods. The client provided us with sample banknotes and coins from various countries, which we used to meticulously test the machines. We also simulated high-traffic scenarios to ensure the machines could handle peak usage without any issues.

During the testing phase, we encountered several challenges, such as accurately differentiating between similar-looking banknotes from different countries and ensuring swift and secure card transactions. Our technical team worked diligently to refine the system, making necessary adjustments to enhance accuracy and speed.

After achieving a robust and reliable payment system, we presented our findings and the successful test results to the client. The client was pleased with our detailed approach and the comprehensive testing we conducted to ensure the machines’ performance.
